Have you seen Sacred games season 2? Who else wants Satyug other than Guruji aka Pankah Tripathi?

Updated: Jan 26, 2020

Sacred Games season 1 was by a fair distance one the best web series in India, what happened in Sacred games season 2?

We all loved the sacred games season 1 and were left stunned & hoping that the season never ended. We wanted to know who was Trivedi, why did Gaitonde commit suicide, what is the relation between Dilbagh Singh & Gaitonde and finally who was Gaitonde's third father. We were made to wait for season 2, and it took a little over an year for the season 2 to be unveiled. The wait finally came to end on 15th august & as we speak today lakhs if not crores of people have already seen binge watched the complete season 2. Many have loved it , many have hated it but one thing is for sure everyone knows about it. "Satyug" is one of the most prominent concept of this season, but it is interesting to learn about it. What is "Satyug" - It means restart of human life on Earth, needless to say to restart you have to switch off first. We all root for Gaitonde & Sartaj to be able to stop the doomsday & defeat the joint agenda of Shahid Khan & Guruji but the question remains. What type of world are we trying to save? There is poverty, terrorism, floods, earthquakes , overpopulation the list goes on & on.

Is this concept of "Satyug" unique? Do you remember Lord Voldemort & Gellert Grindelwald talking about the "The greater good"which translates to a world ruled by the wizards instead of ordinary humans.

Surprisingly this was the theme of Hobbs & Shaw movie (Fast & Furious franchise too) where the so called antagonist "Eteon" along with an undisclosed person wants to kill the lesser humans and aims to create a rather perfect world.

But this isn't the first movie to depict this logic or concept, as far as we can remember it all started with The Da Vinci Code (2006) , Angels & Demons (2009) and was concluded in Inferno (2016). Zobrist, who was obsessed with Dante, has created a viral super-weapon he has dubbed as "Inferno", with the potential of annihilating half the world's population.

Do you see a pattern here or is it only us at Wanderwomaniya who are smitten by this concept of survival of the fittest? Oh yes it is all inspired from Darwin, read the below taken from Wikipedia:

"Survival of the fittest" is a phrase that originated from Darwinian evolutionary theory as a way of describing the mechanism of natural selection. The biological concept of fitness is defined as reproductive success. In Darwinian terms the phrase is best understood as "Survival of the form that will leave the most copies of itself in successive generations."

Well Hollywood is certainly hooked to the idea of Satyug in one form or the other and so are we, can't wait to know if Sartaj managed to diffuse the bomb. Well his pattern was very different from Shahod Khan's, but looks like it will one whole year before we get answers to our questions. Meanwhile watch the other movies which we have listed in this article. You can thank us later :P.

Have you come across any series or movie on a similar theme which we might have missed? Feel free to let us know. Till then "Aham Brahmasmi"
