About the event

Day 01: Arrive Leh 3505 meters / 11567 feet.

Arrive at airport Leh - 3500m above sea level. Check in at hotel rest for acclimatization. Afternoon, proceed to Visit Shanti Stupa & Leh Palace, later in the evening walk around local market dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 02: Alchi, Pathar sahib Gurdwara, Magnetic Hills Day Tour

After Breakfast, proceed to visit of 1000-year-old Alchi monastery the only Gompa in Ladakh region on flat ground continue to the Likir Monastery visit the three stories Dharma Wheel Gompa. Here you'll be awestruck with the sight of the massive Buddha statues. Drive through Indus & Zanskar River and visiting, Pathar Sahib Gurdwara, Magnetic Hills, Basgo Palace in late evening return back to Leh for dinner and overnight at the hotel.

Day 3: Tour of Khardungla Pass 18380 Ft. Nubra Valley and Hunder Sand Dunes

After early breakfast depart by surface to Nubra valley the 140 Kms approximately 4 to 5 hrs. Via Khardungla (18380 ft.), Highest Motor able road in the World) on arrive explore Diskit, Hunder Villages and camel Safari in Sand Dunes. Stay overnight at the hotel in Nubra.

Day 4: Nubra – Turtuk – Nubra

After early breakfast, depart by surface for day excursion to Turtuk. It is a village in the Leh district of Jammu and Kashmir, India. It is located in the Nubra tehsil, 90km from the Nubra town, on the banks of the Shyok River. Turtuk was opened to tourists in 2009. The village offers views of Beautiful Valley, part of the Shyok Valley. Though a Muslim village, there are a few Gompas located on the plateau above the Shyok River and there is an old royal house to see in the village. Turtuk is one of the few places in India where one can witness Balti culture, and one can find a few homestays and guest houses in the village. It is the last major village where tourist activity is allowed before the Line of Control. In late afternoon return to Nubra for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Visit Diskit monastery which is 515 years old & Drive Pangong

After Breakfast visit Diskit Monastery and leave for Pangong, ride through Shyok River. Arrive at Pangong Lake it is the highest salt water Lake in the World, shared by two countries India & China. Enjoy the beauty of the lake on the Banks of Pangong Lake with multi-color reflections and fascinating high altitude of the Lake Dinner and overnight at Camp in Pangong.

Day 06: Pangong to Tso Moriri Lake

After breakfast, transfer to Tso-moriri. The drive to Tso-moriri seems eternal. Once you drive off the tarred road along the Indus you're faced with miles and miles of land running through the mountains with nothing on the way, save a few refreshment tents flapping away in the scorching afternoon wind. The drive to Tso-moriri is no doubt grueling and long; but where you reach at the end of it all is probably worth a hundred such journeys. When the lake is just round the next mountain, it yet can't be seen, but you know it's there as you are suddenly hit by a blast of chilled air. And the rough, dusty brown landscape starts easing out into shades of green; Small marmots peek over rocks at passing cars like a Disney animation, the snowcaps fade into view and the cold breeze continues to blow Dinner and overnight at camp.

Day 07: Tso-Moriri to Leh

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Leh. Enroute visit Hemis Monastery situated 45 Kms west of Leh; Hemis is the largest monastery in Ladakh. On way back, visit Thiksay Gompa or Thiksay Monastery (also transliterated from Ladakhi as Tikse, Tiksey or Thiksey) is a Gompa (monastery) affiliated with the Gelug sect of Tibetan Buddhism. It is located on top of a hill in Thiksey village, approximately 19 kilometers east of Leh in Ladakh, It is noted for its resemblance to the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet and is the largest Gompa in central Ladakh, notably containing a separate set of buildings for female enunciates that has been the source of significant recent building and reorganization. Proceed and visit Shey Palace the former summer palace and Rancho’s School, Dinner and overnight Night at the hotel.

Day 08: Departure Leh

After breakfast, this morning transfer to the airport to board the flight for your onward destination with wonderful memories of Ladakh trip.

* Ladakh is a high altitude cold desert. So while the temperature may not exceed 25 degrees C, the afternoons can still feel extremely hot due to the sharp sun.

* Mornings and Evenings will be cold, especially near Pangong Tso and Tso Moriri with temperatures as low as -3 degrees C in the night. In other words, typical cold desert summer weather – warm days and cool nights in Leh/Nubra(~3000m) and very cold night at Pangong(~4500m).

* You may get slight rainfall that may bring the temperature down further. Sudden drizzle is common in high mountains.
