Itinerary:

Day 1

Tuesday 3 September Brisbane-Charleville-Quilpie

Depart Brisbane with Qantas Link to Charleville, where on arrival you’ll be met by your coach captain. Board your luxury coach and head west to Quilpie Meals: (D) Accommodation: Quilpie Motor Inn

Day 2

Wednesday 4 September 2019 Quilpie– Birdsville

After breakfast, join the Birdsville Development Road where we hit the outback where the bitumen ends, and the gravel roads begin. Stop in at the town that was – Betoota, see all that remains - the ruins of the old roadhouse hotel, then continue to Birdsville. On arrival your tented accommodation will be ready for your check in, so don’t worry about having to put up your own tent. Your 2-person tent will include a lined floor, camp stretcher with bed roll, sleeping bag, pillow and 12-volt light. You’ll be staying at the Birdsville Caravan Park, so hot showers and toilets available. Meals: (BLD)

Day 3

Thursday 5 September 2019 Birdsville sights and free day

Enjoy breakfast at Stonestreets Tent City, then climb on board the coach for a short orientation/sightseeing tour of Birdsville and surrounds. On return the rest of the day is free to enjoy as you wish. Freshen up and then get dressed up for The Birdsville Race Club sixth annual RFDS Birdsville Races Cocktail Party. The most glamorous event of race week, the Cocktail Party provides a fantastic opportunity to dress up and experience outback hospitality in style. The evening includes live entertainment, finger foods and one complimentary drink on arrival Meals (BL)

Day 4

Friday 06 September 2019 Birdsville Races

Watch as the small town of Birdsville comes alive with over 8,000 people descending for the legendary Birdsville Racing Carnival. Transfers to and from Birdsville Race Club are available throughout the day for today’s race meeting. There are two days of racing as well as nightly entertainment and a fun-loving crowd at the Birdsville Pub. Chat to the right person this evening and you may be able to pick up some hot tips for tomorrow’s races.

Day 5

Saturday 07 September 2019 Birdsville Races

Breakfast/Brunch will be served at Tent City, then prepare yourself for the races. Enjoy the relaxed and charming outback atmosphere as excitement and merriment builds with music and punters cheering on their favourite horse!

After the last race is run the town will be abuzz with music, dancing, celebrating and commiserating.

Day 6

Sunday 8 September 2019 Birdsville – Quilpie

After an early breakfast your crew will pack up the Tent City and you'll say farewell to Birdsville, retrace your route back through Windorah and on to Quilpie. Meals: (BLD) Accommodation: Quilpie Motor Inn

Day 7

Monday 9 September 2019 Quilpie – Charleville – Brisbane

This morning after breakfast, visit St Finbarr's Church Quilpe and view the beautiful opal altar and font before heading to Charleville. See the sights around the township of Charleville travelling to Roma for your flight. Meals:(B) Depart Roma 6:25pm - Arrive Brisbane 7:25pm
