The monumental sculpture of Kartlis Deda, (Mother of Georgia), stands above Tbilisi. Across the canyon atop Mtatsminda, Holy Mountain, sits the brightly lit space needle style communications tower

visible from anywhere in the city. The charming narrow streets of Old Town (Shardeni) are representativeof the both city's rich heritage and impressive nightlife.

Cobblestone alleys and 19th century art nouveaux give way to modern high rise along the west bank of the river Mtkvari. The cliffs of Metekhi offer romantic views of the medieval fortress of Narikala. Up and coming neighborhoods such as Vera, Vake and Saburtalo boast world class shopping, fine dining and trendy cafes.

New Tiflis -the perfect place for a stroll in the city - no cars, nicely renovated old buildings with interesting details, cute cafés, excellent wine bars and some lovely sculptures along the avenue. Today we explored Mtskheta City & Gori & Uplistsikhe.

Mtskheta (ancient capital of Georgia) is Georgia’s most sacred pilgrimage city and has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Mtskheta is located just 20 km north of Tbilisi in the region of Mtskheta- Mtianeti. The town of approximately 8000 people is one of Georgia’s top destinations. Mtskheta is home to the many of the best examples of

Orthodox Christian architecture and religious heritage found in Georgia.

Gori is located on the confluence of the Kura and the Liakhvi in the picturesque Kartlia valley. From the south and the west the city is surrounded by scenic mountains. Even though the city was first mentioned in the 6th century, the city is best known as the birthplace of Joseph Dzhugashvili better known as "the Father of the peoples”, or comrade Stalin” who ruled the Soviet Empire from 1925 to 1953. By the way, the countrymen of the great dictator esteem and respect him. Even the town's main street is named in his honor – Stalin Prospect. In the very center of the town like a bright spot on the background of old structure stands a huge palace built in the original Gothic style. This is Stalin Memorial Museum which was constructed in the 1950s.

10 km from Gori on the bank of the river Kura there stands one of the rarest monuments in the world – the ancient fortified city Uplistsikhe (fortress of god) cut inside the volcanic rocks of the Kvernaki ridge. It was first mentioned in the annals of the 1st century BC and prospered in the 9th -10th centuries.

Transfer back to your hotel and Overnight at the hotel.

Day 4

Have your Breakfast in the hotel and let's leave for another day excursion.

The Ananuri is one of the hundreds of Georgian medieval castles, almost impossible to drive by, if you set off on a surface journey from Russia to Georgia. If you plan to reach the fortress from Tbilisi, you can take a shuttle van from Tbilisi to Gudauri, Pasanauri or Stepantsminda.

In the north of Georgia, at the foot of the Mount Kazbek, there is a small settlement called Stepantsminda. For about 100 years till 2007 it was always known as Kazbegi, and only recently it received its historic name. It is located 165km in the north from Tbilisi and only 11km from the Russian border. Also, Georgian Military road crosses this town, that

connects Russia and Georgia and this is the road that lead tourists traveling by car.

Gudauri is a mountain-ski resort in Georgia. Situated on the south-facing plateau of the Greater Caucasus Mountain Range at an elevation of 2200m above sea level with skiable area enjoying maximum exposure to the sun. Gudauri lies 100 km (75 miles, 2 hours drive) to the north of the capital Tbilisi and is two-hour drive from the Tbilisi International Airport or even a shorter helicopter flight frm Tbilisi. The resort offers high quality skiing opportunities to all levels of skiers and snowboarders. The slopes of Gudauri are completely above the tree line and are generallyconsidered to be avalanche-safe. The ski season usually lasts for four months, starting from mid-December till the end of April and the snow on the slopes gets up to 5 feet deep.

Day 5

Check out today from Tbilisi. Have your last breakfast in this hotel. Pack the bags and leave for our nest destination and explore some offbeat.

The Georgian town of Sighnaghi is located in the eastern part of Kakheti, and is known as the City of Love. Sighnaghi was also one of Georgia’s many stops along the ancient Silk Road. Sighnaghi is just over an hour away from Tbilisi, which makes it a good escape from the busy life of the city. Many day trips and short excursions travel to Sighnaghi.

The town has recently undergone significant restoration and infrastructural improvement, rendering Sighnaghi a must-see destination in Georgia. Casino gambling, high end hotels and dining, fine wines and a stunning view of the Alazani Valley make Sighnaghi one of Georgia’s most attractive small towns.

The St. George’s Monastery of St. Nino, sometimes also called the Bodbe Monastery, is one of the most important religious sites in Georgia. Today, there is a nunnery where the monastery used to be, and the St. George Cathedral, part of the monastery, holds the remains of St. Nino, Equal to the Apostles, who brought Christianity to Georgia. There is alsoa new cathedral being built, using much of the same construction methods used to make the most famous cathedrals in Georgia centuries ago.
