Gangtok - Pelling - Darjeeling (Sikkim Women's Trip)

Day 1: Bagdogra Airport: We will meet here before heading on to Gangtok. Evening free to explore MG road market

Day 2: Excursion to Tsomgo Lake & Baba Mandir

This morning, after having your breakfast, leave for the holy yet amazing excursion to Tsomgo Lake (38.5 km) and Baba Mandir (54.6 km).

A tranquil and scenic lake, Tsomgo Lake is one of the most popular attractions of Gangtok. Set at an elevation of 3780 m, this glacial lake is considered holy by Sikkimese people. There is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva, located on the banks of the lake. The place is a paradise for bird watchers as get to spot a number of Brahmini ducks and migratory birds near the lake.

Located at a distance of around 16 km from Tsomgo Lake is Baba Mandir. A popular pilgrim center, Baba Mandir is believed to possess wish fulfilling powers. The shrine is built in the memory of Baba Harbhajan Singh, who was an Indian Army soldier and lost his life near Nathula Pass. It is believed that he is still ‘on duty’ for the Indian Army and he guards the lives of soldiers posted on the India- China border.

Day 3: Departure - Gangtok to Pelling

Post breakfast leave for Pelling.  Before we leave for Pelling we will visit Ganesh Tok for a panaromic view of Gangtok. 

Pelling is at an altitude of 6800 feet / 2072 meters – on a clear day  can get a clear view of Himalayan range with snow capped mount Pandim, Kumbhakarna, Rathong, Khangchendzonga, Zopuno, Shimbho, Narsing, Siniolchu etc - hotel check in Pelling - evening one is free to stroll around - it is one of the exotic settlement with varieties of Rhododendron, Orchids and wildlife -  overnight stay at Pelling. This is indeed the road less travelled. If there is enough time

Day 4:  After breakfast at hotel – Drive for Full Day Sightseeing of Pelling and its surroundings - The routes are forested and the botanical and zoological richness is inspiring - Places of visit are Rimbi  water  Falls, Rimbi  Rock  Garden, Kechopalri   Lake, it is one of the holy Buddhist lake and it is believed that any wish in front of the lake comes true - Myth is that when a leaf falls on the placid clear water surface, it is picked by a bird and thus the water surface is always free of leave, Kanchenjunga  water  Falls, Pemayangtse  Monastery, Rabdantse ruins, the scenic view from the top of the ruin to the mystic heights of Kanchendzonga ranges is something to be cherished – back to hotel – evening free to roam around the helipad or Shopping center - overnight stay at Pelling. P.S. Helipad area is worth a walk for the sunset view.

Day 5: Pelling to Darjeeling

Post breakfast say good bye to Pelling & Sikkim as we head to Darjeeling which falls in West Bengal. Its a long drive from Pelling to Darjeeling so have some rest and you can explore the very famous Darjeeling mall road in the evening. Overnight at Darjeeling

Day 6: Start the day at 4AM to to watch the spectacular sunrise over Mount Kanchenjunga (28,208 ft). On way back to your hotel pay visit to Ghoom monastery and Batasia Loop. After having breakfast at the hotel head towards the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, P.N. Zoological Park (Thursday close) , Tenzing Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-help Centre (Sunday closed), Tea Garden (outer view), Ava Art Gallery and Japanese Temple (4 hrs from 9.00 to 13.00 hrs). Overnight in Darjeeling

Day 7: Post breakfast leave for Bagdogra airport
